Design legend Alvar Aalto’s asymmetrical waves (“aalto” in Finnish) have become a timeless symbol of Scandinavian interior design since winning the 1937 Paris World Fair. Inspired by the thousands of lakes in his native Finland, the iconic Aalto vase combines form and function. Each unique glass vase goes through a multi-step production process at the Iittala Glass Factory. The crystal is mouthblown then the pieces are hand cut before going through several polishings.
